UI/UX Design & Dev Services for Pet Insurance Company
“They create thoughtful designs to make the user flow more friendly, accessible, and intuitive.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m one of the product managers at PetPartners, Inc., a pet insurance company. I oversee several of our products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Nybble Group?
We use Nybble Group for ongoing UI/UX design and development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Nybble Group has previously worked on UX and development for our mobile app, which included updating the UI colors and style throughout, as well as some user flow issues. They also were able to create documentation of the development processes to continue to support our expanding team and mapped all user paths throughout the mobile app for future reference when making changes.
Currently, I am working with development resources from Nybble Group to establish a proof of concept for our quoting & enrollment platform to transition existing code to a new format, UX designers to improve the UI for our policy portal and establish in-depth tracking through Google Analytics for our quoting & enrollment experience.
Their designers typically use Adobe XD to create mock-ups and interactive prototypes of the UI they’re working on. Additionally, they’ve helped us with in-depth market research, which is incredibly helpful in making informed decisions and thinking beyond just a couple of key competitors.
Our requirements for them usually depend on what we’re trying to accomplish. Normally, we allow the designers we work with to make suggestions because we value their expertise. Overall, we have a very collaborative relationship.
What is the team composition?
As our relationship is not centered around a single project, the individuals we work with from Nybble Group varies, but we have a dedicated portfolio manager. As more resources are needed to join an existing team or establish a new team, we work with them to onboard individuals as needed.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Nybble Group’s designs are regularly met with excitement because of their high quality. The team often exceeds expectations by being proactive in their approach to overcoming roadblocks with design and development. Every team member I’ve had the opportunity to work with has been highly engaged and adaptive to changing business needs.
How did Nybble Group perform from a project management standpoint
When there is a project manager assigned, I have found them to be very well organized and easy to build a relationship with. They usually communicate with us through email or MS Teams, and we have daily stand-up meetings they attend.
As design and development resources become more familiar with each product, their output quickly grows. During the learning curve I’ve had to extend some timelines, but this has never caused any concern for me; I’ve usually factored in some extra time because I prefer to deliver early than late, or I am able to justify the additional time needed by presenting the added benefits we will reach.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their developers are amazing. I haven’t interacted with many developers interested in design or UX, but Nybble Group’s developers genuinely care. They also actively engage with all the design resources and our product managers to help improve our various products. They create thoughtful designs to make the user flow more friendly, accessible, and intuitive.
Nybble Group’s developers work well with ambiguity and quickly build a strong team dynamic amongst the resources assigned to a specific area.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a clear idea of what you want and communicate that. Additionally, ensure that you are ready to spend the time necessary working with designers to reach the ideal-state with mock-ups and have regularly scheduled check-ins. They provide a lot of different services, so they can provide resources with the specialized skills you need.

Virtual Closet Application Dev for Closet Company
"Nybble was prompt and easy to work with. They were also extremely honest."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO & co-founder of Abundant Closet LLC.
What challenge were you trying to address with Nybble Group?
My partner and I discovered there was a need in the marketplace for a virtual closet application. As a result, we hired Nybble to develop our vision.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our main goal was to assist women in maximizing their current wardrobe and help them make informed purchases. We also wanted to assist retailers to offer relevant pieces of clothing and accessories to women based on what was already in their closet. In the end, the Nybble team created a virtual closet with approximately eight layers of logic that would mix and match existing wardrobe items with potential new items.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Gustavo (Founder & CEO), and we also collaborated with other people including their technical lead.
How did you come to work with Nybble Group?
Nybble came highly recommended to my partner.
How much have you invested with them?
We probably invested $250,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our collaboration ran from January 2009–June 2012.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were very happy to engage with them because they invested their time and technology at a reduced price in order to complete our application. We engaged them for over two years, but we had to shut the business down in 2012 due to a lack of funds. We did have paying customers, and we were able to slightly scale the business with our increased user base.
On top of that, we raised angel investment funds that carried us through several years. In addition, we attracted customers — both retail and wholesale partners. However, due to the investment environment changing, we were unable to continue.
How did Nybble Group perform from a project management standpoint?
They were extremely responsive, and we were able to communicate with them remotely — especially on what we needed from our platform both from a retail and wholesale standpoint. We used Skype and email to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Nybble was prompt and easy to work with. They were also extremely honest.
Are there any areas they could improve?
On my side, I should’ve made a personal investment to go to their office and meet with them face-to-face. If I had done that, maybe I would’ve understood what they needed from us in order to achieve our goals.
On the other hand, on Nybble’s side, I would want them to continue delivering excellent service. In fact, they shared some of their future plans and I’d definitely open up my European network to see how I could assist them. Overall, I strongly recommend companies to work with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear about what you’re asking for and have a technical personal assigned from your team that would interface with Nybble. We didn’t have that until the end, but that was not Nybble’s responsibility.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of a pet insurance company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Nybble Group?
We were looking for additional support, from a staff augmentation and software development standpoint.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provide frontend resources with some backend resources as well. Primarily, the teams are focused in Angular. They’re also helping in some CMS support with a .NET backend and .NET core API technologies.
What is the team composition?
We work with five people from their team.
How did you come to work with Nybble Group?
We became familiar with them through their work with one of our partners.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $50,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2020, and our work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The results have been highly successful. The quality of the work is exceptional. We go through a pretty rigorous code review process here, and there has been nothing but quality feedback. In addition to that, the ramp-up time was incredible; they were able to jump into our system, act as an extension to our team, and act as an extension of our team effectively.
How did Nybble Group perform from a project management standpoint?
Their ability to meet deadlines is also exceptional. They’re very communicative, and they’ve jumped into our chat platforms to make themselves readily available. Their project management skills have been nothing short of fantastic.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a depth of resources available. Based on their success so far, I see a strong potential for increased involvement in other areas of development.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we haven’t had any issues. It’s all been very seamless.

Internal Database Dev & Design for Pet Health Company
"They strike a good balance between being very customer-centric and not going down the wrong path."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CMO of a pet marketing company that focuses on pet insurance and pet health-related products. We’re a startup that’s rolling out new products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Nybble Group?
We’re a new entrant in the market and have multiple products in two main categories. First and foremost, we wanted to create some breakthrough levers with regards to design and technology. Secondarily, we wanted to create a seamless integration across our products fueled by data and insight.
Another area that’s really important is the concept of maintenance. Things pop up that we don’t think about. We built our MVP but we’re always looking to enhance. The collaboration is really about enabling access to efficient and effective technology and perhaps avoiding some of the clunky, home-made approaches that people use.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Nybble developed and designed our internal database. Their first deliverable is a consulting technology platform we use to support, inform, and enable all of our upcoming products, which involve multiple websites. Secondly, they worked to enhance the platform’s UX.
Currently, the team is working on the project’s third deliverable is our internal technology database. The platform has to integrate with multiple third-party technology platforms that we don’t control.
From a database standpoint, we want to tap into some of the open-source tools, rather than recreate the wheel. We’re in the process of customizing some of the open-source tools available that Nybble recommended to us.
We’ve been increasing their scope of work month-over-month. They have expanded their role into marketing support services, handling our social media, email deployment, and ad assets’ design and development.
What is the team composition?
I interacted with everyone in Nybble to some extent — from owner-operator to product managers, designers, and developers — depending on the need or issue.
How did you come to work with Nybble?
I had worked with a couple of Nybble employees at a past company. I followed them and I feel that it really paid off.
How much have you invested with them?
I think we’ve invested close to $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started collaborating with them in October 2018 and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I will give Nybble a 10 out of 10 for design and user experience. I’m really confident about that. The support has been great and we can move pretty quickly while still paying attention to detail. They’ve been helpful and it’s really been a great relationship overall.
The harder KPIs are related to technology and our stepped-purchase process. I believe we’re at 8 out of 10 with regards to completing our metrics, such as the purchase of a product and initiating customer support. Overall, those metrics have been absolutely stellar.
How did Nybble perform from a project management standpoint?
Nybble’s communication skills are really comprehensive and the team support is round-the-clock. As much as I hate to send a message at 11:30 p.m., they respond quickly when I do. This speaks to their commitment and how they operate across the board.
I also find their ticketing system interesting because I can tap into their systems — from product management to user experience and design tools — without having to manage it 100% of the time. I think their whole approach to these open-source platforms enabled us to have a level of transparency that I wouldn’t have if everything was on a custom build and housed with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One of the things that most impressed me is that they strike a good balance between being very customer-centric and not going down the wrong path. If they think there's a better way to do something, they will certainly let us know. I appreciate that because they’re really the experts and there’s a nice presentation of those things that make us listen to them a bit more.
They’re a group of people who produce quality work and they’re committed to me and my businesses. They strike a balance between a good relationship and a good corporate partnership.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we started out, we went through a little bit of a rough patch with the creative and design team, but they turned it around really quickly. Once they heard what we were saying, we got to a really good place.
They could adapt their processes to our schedule a bit better and keep things moving as fast as possible. I respect their management style and I appreciate the process but I need them to integrate with our processes as best as possible.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Potential customers should provide as much information as possible; the more information you share with them, the better their work is. It might be an extra 10 minutes to explain something in more detail, but it just improves the quality of their solution.
