Working on a new identity for Argentine tourism is a challenging and satisfying task. We developed a new brand to promote the country as an international destination of inexhaustible attractions. Argentina is an exceptional country. Extension, variety and contrasts are its distinguishing characteristics. Culture, myths, legends, nature, climates, landscapes, architecture, gastronomy, the warmth of its people; avant-garde and tradition, make up the tourist experience proposed by the new brand promise. We worked on the redefinition of values and on the development of a renewing brand narrative, as well as on the creation of a new visual language. The objective was to capture the essence of Argentina's tourism offer and open it to the world through an inspiring, versatile and attractive brand expression.

Growing Communication
Contents. Consultancy. Engineering. Mediapro is synonymous of media in the European market. A leading group in the generation and distribution of television and film products, the transmission of sporting events, advertising marketing and technical assistance for the audiovisual industry. We've designed the Mediapro brand and graphic system. In close collaboration with Zeligstudio, we've developed this living global identity, which condenses the cinematic essence of content transmission.

Meeting Point
The International Book Fair of Buenos Aires is one of the most important cultural events in Argentina and the territory of the Spanish language. Since 1975 it has become the meeting point for authors, publishers and readers. More than a million guests visit the 1,500 exhibitors each year and participate in hundreds of cultural activities. Working closely with the Fundación El Libro team, we help redesign the brand experience, revitalizing the visual system on all its platforms. As an international cultural event, the objective was to generate a solution that challenges its different audiences and is truly for everyone.

Introduce your business and what you do there
I am a branding and image manager at YPF, an oil and energy company.
What challenges were you trying to address with Tholön?
We hired them for graphic design services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We work with them on several projects involving graphic design work. We usually start off with a briefing phase, during which they provide us with design proposals and choose one we like best. From there, we start with the actual design process.
Their team uses various graphic design tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, and Acrobat.
What was the team composition?
We work with three people and an assigned project manager who serves as our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Tholön?
One of our managers worked with them in the past, so he was the one who reach out first. We decided to hire them because they were great at what they do and very professional.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in June 2010, and our engagement is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been seeing very good results, which just goes to show how great they are at their job.
How did Tholön perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication has been very smooth, so we always understand each other very well. We interact mainly through email and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?

I can’t think of any — we are very happy with their work.

For what projects/services did your company hire Tholön?
Development of visual identity and design of our paper series on human development and policy. Also, development of visual identity and design for branding and social media contents. Two papers were already published and a third one is starting the design process.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We have worked with Tholon since 2010, it was recommended by an editor. The deciding factor for choosing Tholon during all these years have been their creativity, commitment, dynamism and accessibility.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
First, we met to discuss the documents main messages and general guidelines for our publication. Tholon captured and incorporated in a creative and efficient way these inputs and propose two options for the visual identity of the series. Then they proposed how to structure the document in visual terms and three options for the cover of each document.
Once a cover was selected, there were a period of exchanges until deciding the final one. Parallel to this, Tholon developed the graphic design of the sections, which included multiple graphs and tables. The final version of each document included 3 corrections. Then, they provided different options for social media infographics, based on the identity of the documents.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with one of the directors, a disgn assistant and an administrative assistant.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The visual identity and design developed by Tholon captures the core values of our company, facilitates the reading of our statistics to a broader audience, and at the same time makes our products more attractive. They increase the exposure and visibility in our site and social platforms.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They are very accessible, receptive to feedback, and easy to work with.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their capacity to innovate in design oriented to human development and social policies, to articulate guidelines from a bureaucratic structure and give it a renew vision.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Perhaps to research more deeply visual design of our publications in other countries.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’ve been the CEO of Mediamax for 18 years. We produce and commercialize broadcast media, and we have access to 500 radio stations all over the country. Additionally, we have our own radio brands such as Planet Music, Acqua FM, and more.
What challenge were you trying to address withTholön?
We hired Tholön several years ago to provide us with branding services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Tholön has been in charge of creating the branding of Mediamax, Acqua FM, and Planet Music. Every year, they create collateral for our presentations and proposals to our clients. They sometimes use a sunlight-sensitive material, which is used for our ads on the coast, especially for our summer campaigns. We’ve also worked a lot with scented pamphlets.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with around four people from Tholön.
How did you come to work withTholön?
In 1999, I visited a person that was running a project in their home, and I met them there. I called them after that.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend an average of $20,000 on each project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in 1999, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Having Tholön onboard has been a game-changer for us, and they’ve positively impacted the relationship with our clients. They were a fundamental part of changing our image and improving how clients perceive us. We have a great image, and it wouldn’t have been possible without them.
How didTholön perform from a project management standpoint?
In 23 years, we’ve never seen a mistake coming from Tholön; they’re very meticulous with their work.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What differentiates Tholön is their creativity and perfect designs. We’ve done really creative work together, some of which were featured in the Modern Arts Museum of Buenos Aires, as well as in a Taschen edition of the best Latin-American designs. They’re one of the best design agencies, and people from all over the world go to them for internships.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really. Tholön is excellent, and I’ve recommended them a lot.

We have been working with Tholon on the design of our Integrated Report for several years now. Which is made up of editorial and web design, in English and Spanish.

We chose them years ago for the excellent quality of their work, good predisposition, and compliance with delivery times.

It consists of the first stage of design proposals, once the path is defined, we begin to translate the texts that make up our report integrated into the pages of the book, both in English and Spanish. We continue with the realization of the report web page.

Four, including the project manager, two designers, and a proofreader.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
All areas of the company celebrated the final result of the pieces.

Excellent, I always had an immediate response to the requests we made, both by mail and by phone, and they were always super decisive.

Their ability to bring us new design proposals year after year impressed me, always current and the analysis of the texts to translate it into the design with logic and coherence.
