Lennox, COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS PORTAL
Lennox, a leader in high-efficiency HVAC systems, wanted to launch its business into commercial building automation with a best-in-class product. Lennox partnered with Tonic3 to create a centralized portal where facilities managers and building owners can monitor, control, and troubleshoot maintenance issues, in order to efficiently operate and manage costs of their entire network of locations.
THE APPROACH
ENGAGING IN USER-CENTERED DESIGN, Meeting the needs of end-users and involving them throughout the design process are core tenets of good UX. Following UX best practices, Lennox invited a group of its key customers and internal stakeholders to participate in a series of day-long sketching sessions (Design Studios). During these sessions, Tonic3 identified, prioritized and helped facilitate consensus to define key product requirements. Compared to a traditional “requirements doc” approach, the Design Studio sessions drastically reduced the time, effort, and overhead of the project’s requirements-gathering phase.
BUILDING AND TESTING HIGH-FIDELITY CLICKABLE PROTOTYPES
Informed by the Design Studio sessions, the Tonic3 project team spent the next 2 weeks creating a low-fidelity prototype to take into user testing. After several rounds of iterative testing and design refinement, Tonic3 produced a high-fidelity prototype that users loved. The final production-ready prototype and accompanying documentation were delivered to Lennox and served as their guide for development.

Pizza Hut, LOYALTY PROGRAM UX
Tonic3 partnered with the Pizza Hut UX & Loyalty teams in forming a strategic plan for improving the overall experience of the loyalty program. The objective for this project was to give users a clear understanding of the program structure, incentivizing them to not only join Hut Rewards but begin engaging as an active member. THE APPROACH ANALYZE CHECKOUT FLOWS: This project was kicked off with an extensive analysis of competing checkout flows as they relate to acquisition of new loyalty members. After some rapid design iteration, we then worked with the Pizza Hut research team in testing a new checkout path against the existing one. This test confirmed that the new flow reduced time on task by ~40%, with 100% of users preferring the new design. THE RESULT IMPROVED LANDING PAGE: Having partnered with the Pizza Hut UX & Loyalty teams, Tonic3 was able to deliver a landing page that is now live on the site as well as providing high fidelity prototypes for 16 unique checkout flow scenarios. Development is underway and on target for release in Q2 2019. Intuit ProConnect, Testing and Redesign of a Financial Analysis Application
Description: Tonic3 worked with Intuit to perform a complete responsive site redesign and migration to a new Content Management System for their ProConnect Division. This required a completely new information architecture and navigation system, refreshed content strategy, and total visual design overhaul for over 150 pages -- coded and launched in less than 8 months. Working with Intuit stakeholders, we studied the Marketing Department's newly proposed information architecture and quickly identified potential pain points. With days, we began creating prototypes of key pages and navigation systems. Within two weeks, remote user tests of critical content organization and functionality were underway. Over the next four months, iterations and testing continued. During this phase worked closely alongside the development team to ensure the reuse of components, a critical step to ensure coding deadlines would be met. As desktop views were finalized, the corresponding tablet and mobile views were created. Completed, fully-tested prototypes were then handed off to development for final coding in their CMS, Adobe Experience Manager.
