It was by referral. One of my business contacts highly recommended White Canvas. I was looking for a custom word press design & competitive pricing.

The project started with a discovery call to capture our vision. Within a short amount of time, the team presented several mood boards through Figma for us to review. Once we decided on the theme, the project was underway. The design & review process was smooth & we were able to fully collaborate through Figma. The White Canvas team did a great job in capturing our feedback, asking questions & iterating the design until we were happy.

In total, we worked with 2 people - the founder/CEO & the UI/UX Designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website is exactly what we wanted. People love the look of the website & we've received some inbound leads.

I am the marketing manager at an educational consulting company based in Boston, MA. We work with clients from all over the world.

Our website was created many years ago and had become outdated. Because of that, we hired WCanvas to provide a new design for us that was modern and easy to use.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for web designers not only in the US but also in other countries. After reviewing our options, WCanvas had the best price and motivation to do our project.

We had several meetings with the team. We received two options of designs but we didn't like them much at first. So, after we shared new references of what we would like, they mixed their knowledge with our preferences to create our new website. Although it took more time than we expected, the overall of the website is great. And, even after finishing the project, the team is all the time replying to our questions and helping us with how to use WordPress.

During the entire process, we worked with 4 people, including the CEO of the company.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Now, the design of the website looks way better. The information that our clients need is easier to find. We also gained more credibility in the market by having an up-to-date website that shows all our services, testimonials, and companies that partner with us.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Every time we wanted to schedule a meeting, even being in different time zones, the team always made the effort to allocate the best day and time for everybody. They also replied fast to our emails and inquires.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were always patient to help us, even with the smallest details of the website. Every time we asked for their help, they always seemed happy to assist us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some things could have been done faster, but they prioritize our preferences. In the beginning, they could also have provided us more references ideas and explanations of the entire process. But in the end, we have a website design and a user experience that we are happy with.

We are a visual communications company serving our clients with animation and live-sketching services. I am the founder & CEO.

We needed to redesign our old website, to make it more user-friendly, better client experience, convert more leads, and convey a premium vibe.

Make a new website that looked great, functioned great, and converted more leads.

White Canvas was recommended by another small business I'm associated with. We vetted a handful of companies and chose White Canvas because the prices seemed fair, they were fast to respond, and had a plan/process.

Full website redesign with several new pages, new forms, etc.

What was the team composition?

There were at any given point 3 to 4 people assisting us with the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've gotten both anecdotal evidence from people saying how impressed they are with the website, but we are also seeing increased about of leads coming in to the site.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Overall, very good. The team was very communicative and fast to respond to emails. The only hiccup was, at times, some of our feedback was missed or not applied during the implementation phase. But overall, it was good.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The website is really nice, they had good ideas and suggestions, worked quickly. They also trained our team on how to update and manage the site on our own, and it's super user-friendly. They built the website in a way that made edits or changes easy to do.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Only note is to ensure that all feedback is applied, and that nothing falls through the cracks.

I am the Founder and CEO of The Pulso, a lead factory. Our goal is to help B2B companies in their growing process drawing attention to possible clients and generating Leads in relation to their service

We hire them to Design and Develop our website.

What were your goals for this project?

We were working to design our website. We intended to drive better performance, like page loading, as well as improving our ability to capture prospects. On the backend, we needed a more flexible CMS capable of easy updates.

How did you select this vendor?

I meet the owner at a co-working space and always have business talks so when I needed a vendor for my new site I chat with them and after hearing some ideas knew that they were the right fit.

We already had the branding but needed an agency that could help us with web design and development. So when we reach out they helped us with it, designing a site that works great with our logo and an easy to use CMS.

What was the team composition?

There was a Designer and then a PM that help us during the process. I know there was a dev team working on this but I never spoke with them.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The end result was great! they took the time to understand our needs and the full process was great from start to finish.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project manager was great, we had weekly calls with him and the designer during the design process to touch base on the weekly progress. We were also invited to an Asana board.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team is super organized and easy to work with, the design was great, and we didn't experience any delays. They are highly organized, very skilled (especially at front-end code), and reliable with regards to deadlines.

We’re a software company that primarily provides WordPress websites.

What challenge were you trying to address with White Canvas?

We utilize them for different things. For one project, we engaged them to rewrite one of our plug-ins to provide additional functionality.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an off-the-shelf plug-in that didn’t operate in the way that we wanted it to. We also wanted to change its appearance on the frontend. We hired White Canvas to reconfigure it to reflect the look and functionality that we were seeking.

We were working with a total of 4–5 teammates.

How did you come to work with White Canvas?

One of my other partners had done work with them in the past and recommended them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2020, and that project wrapped up in April of that year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The reconfigured plug-in now works exactly the way we want it to. They delivered exactly upon specifications.

How did White Canvas perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent at receiving our technical requirements and responding to our needs. They were in touch with us all throughout the engagement. Even after the project, they were available to answer any questions we had.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve encountered unreliable vendors who are only interested in taking your money. We didn’t have any issue with White Canvas; they delivered upon their task and was responsive throughout the engagement. I was very happy with their work.

I don’t think so.

Clearly communicate what you want, because no one can read your mind about which functionalities and designs you want to see.

I am the Founder and CEO of a branding, design, and creative services agency with offices in New York City and Providence, RI. As company lead, I oversee an interdisciplinary team of visual designers, strategists, content creators, and engineers

For what projects/services did your company hire White Canvas?

We have in-house design and web development resources, but often have bandwidth overflow as projects ebb and flow. We have long been looking for an offshore partner in our time zone that is skilled, reliable, and has in-house project management. White Canvas is a perfect fit for us.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed a skilled development partner to own certain components of a very large website build while our team worked in parallel to develop the other components. The goal was to augment our own dev bandwidth with a team that could plug in painlessly.

How did you select this vendor?

White Canvas originally reached out cold over email. I liked their portfolio and timezone compatibility. The owner and I met over Zoom and then again in person before we hired them for a test project. We liked the demonstrated skill and expertise as well as the very intimate project management. So, we began using White Canvas regularly for increasingly big and complex project.

We partnered with White Canvas for a fairly complex website design and build, which included e-commerce. Our in-house team handled project/account management, research and discovery, UX and design, as well as development on the WordPress backend of the site. We leaned on White Canvas to build the site's front-end code--which they did with pixel perfect precision--and to also build out the e-commerce component via WooCommerce.

What was the team composition?

The company's CEO was our primary contact and project manager. We also had direct contact with the dev team via a shared Slack channel.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

White Canvas is our go-to outsourced dev partner. Our seamless partnership allows my company to scale very easily when our project flow requires it.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The White Canvas CEO is very hands on and very organized. We communicate with the team in real time through a shared Slack channel. Project management is extremely effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are highly organized, very skilled (especially at front-end code), and reliable with regards to deadlines. Because they are in our timezone and speak very good English, they are almost an extension of our in-house dev team.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and Owner of GOAL, which stands for Growth Oriented Activists for Leaning. We’re a 501(c)(3) that focuses on the education and support of young children in the inner city of Chicago.

What challenge were you trying to address with White Canvas? 

We’re in the middle of a pandemic when children are being forced to stay home, so we wanted to create an application that teaches children about public health, safety, and healthcare while also entertaining them. I liken it to an online Sesame Street. White Canvas is designing and developing the website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

There was an initial sit-down with White Canvas’ team, and I told them my vision. I also brought sample websites with me that I wanted them to emulate. They asked me numerous open-ended questions to get my feedback, and then we mapped out the different phases of the project. 

First, I had to create assets that they could use to build the skeleton of the website. While I did that, they researched the examples I provided to see whether they would be a good fit for what I wanted to accomplish.

We met weekly, with them laying down the assets I created in a test environment. I was able to make corrections and changes in real-time, which I loved. They were also very understanding of my strong opinions and adjusted to all of my changes and concerns. 

The UI/UX interface was very important to me. I wanted kids to feel like they were playing when they were on the website, meaning it had to have a lot of bright colors and fun sound effects. Buttons speak when people click on them; there are also sliding features allowing children to turn from page to page. Currently, we’re working on a language widget that will translate the site into Spanish. 

What is the team composition?

I’m not sure how many people are working behind the scenes, but I’ve worked directly with at least five people. 

How did you come to work with White Canvas? 

I found them on Clutch. After sitting through several introductions that Clutch facilitated, I finally connected with White Canvas. Their team seemed to truly believe in my product so I decided to go with them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $10,000 on the website. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since January 2021, and the site is set to go live on August 5th. 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The site is fantastic. They maintained my budget through transparency about the cost of extra features I wanted to add. They’re a great company. I also sent the website to well-known figures in the political and entertainment world and they’ve expressed interest. Meetings with two figures will take place at the end of August. 

Building children’s websites isn’t what White Canvas does, and the fact that they’re able to do it has been fantastic. I love my website. I absolutely love it. I tested the site with children in Poland and Ecuador, and they loved it too. We’re also going to test it in Mexico and Honduras. 

This is only phase one of my website, and I look forward to working with White Canvas more on the future two phases. 

How did White Canvas perform from a project management standpoint?

I meet with White Canvas weekly, and they always have something new to show me. 

There was a one-time communication issue. I spoke frankly about what I was seeing, and the owner addressed it immediately. It’s been smooth sailing since then. Everyone is respectful and professional. They are very cordial. All communication happens over Zoom and email.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication, research abilities, and honesty stand out. Honesty is the backbone of good business. When you’re honest, it leads to great working relationships. I don’t appreciate it when people oversell their abilities to close a deal. Rather, I enjoy companies who manage expectations. If White Canvas’ team doesn’t know something or how to do something, then they state that and research a solution. They never pretend.

They also have many specialists that can handle whatever I need. Their team members are great with details and following-through when we say that we need something. If I become a millionaire then I’m going to hire them permanently. 

My website is like my baby, and White Canvas was like a team of doctors who managed the process until the baby came out beautifully. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. Their team is really good. I remember when there was a team member who left the company, they handled the transition very well. The communication lines never broke. 

The only painful part is paying them. I had to go through a wire transfer process with my bank. This had nothing to do with them, however. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go into it knowing what you want. Have an idea, even if it’s something that you scribbled on paper so that White Canvas has a reference point to start their research from.

I am the owner of FotoMenu responsible for the Product Lifecycle and the Business Development. Our mission is to help restaurants empower their customers with high quality photos when browsing a menu.

For what projects/services did your company hire White Canvas, and what were your goals?

The challenge we worked to solve was that feeling you get when you are hungry but don't know what to eat. There is a famous saying, a picture is worth a thousand words. We hired White Canvas to refine our UX/UI design and build a custom web application.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed a bunch of web developers and selected White Canvas based on technical expertise and ability to complete on time and on budget.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss the Scope, Objectives, and some of the tools that will be used. From there, I designed the wireFrames, Mock-ups, and delivered it in Sketch. After a few iterations, we had a Prototype ready for development. The technologies used were: Sketch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, BootStrap, PHP, WP Engine (hosting), WordPress for content management, and Asana for project management.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager was our main point of contact throughout the process. Behind the scenes, there were 2 developers, 1 senior software engineer, and 1 junior full stack developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We used a tracking plug-in for cards and google analytics to measure visits. We noticed a huge spike in activity for cards with photos.

We had weekly stand-ups with the Project Manager who communicated with the rest of the team. We would create a list of priorities for the week and then he would assign different tasks to the team We used Asana to coordinate

It was my first time using WordPress so there was a steep learning curve for me but W.Canvas was very supportive, they even created a bunch of video tutorials on how to update the content myself

We had the usual QA testing but everything worked out fine and I'm so happy with the outcome.
