Animated Explainer Video Prod for Insurance Marketplace
"YumYum was very communicative, and they kept in touch with us at each stage of the process."

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the Marketing Manager for an online insurance marketplace company, with my division focusing on the B2B side of the marketplace.
For what projects/services did your company hire Yum Yum Videos, and what were your goals?
We needed a top of funnel piece of video content that explained who we were, what we offered our potential customers, and what sets us apart from other vendors in the space. We needed this to be communicated in a quick and easy to consume way that still hit on all the key points.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
During a previous animated video project (that was on a smaller scale), we had looked into YumYum but they were slightly outside of our budget.
We ultimately were not thrilled with the outcome of that project (with the other vendor), so we decided that the next time we needed an animated video we would go to YumYum and spend a little more for a better product.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We started with a discovery meeting, then we drafted a script internally to hit on all our key marketing messaging. YumYum helped us revise the script to get it into the time limit we were looking for and then created a storyboard and some samples of voice over actors for the narration.
We made comments on the storyboard, then they created a first cut. We made some light comments on that cut, they revised it and then we had a final product we were happy with.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked with Alejandra (our Account Manager) along with Christian (Production Manager). The feedback process was one round of feedback and then implementation of that feedback at each key stage of the project (scripting, storyboard, video cut)
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have used the video during virtual events, and posted it on our website. We now are much more confident in the brand explainer piece we have merchandised on our website.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
YumYum was very communicative, and they kept in touch with us at each stage of the process. We had a few stakeholders involved so the timeline ended up being stretched not by YumYum, but by our own internal team and processes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The final product (and other videos we've seen by this vendor) have a high level of quality and production value that is not always the case with video production vendors (particularly when it comes to animated pieces).
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Honestly there is nothing that I can think of – I was very happy with YumYum all around.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Beezer provides a SaaS [software as a service] platform for the building of apps using progressive web app technology.
What challenge were you trying to address with Yum Yum Videos?
We were looking to produce an educational video so that we could show potential investors and customers how easy it is to build an app on our platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They produced a three-minute video. We gave them the concept that we were trying to achieve in terms of being educational and informative. Yum Yum Videos wrote the script for the video and produced it. They produced some characters that we are now using within our company.
How did you come to work with Yum Yum Videos?
We did a search on the internet to find video producers in the UK, Europe, and globally. We based our decision on the quality of the videos that they produced previously. We compared their previous work to other firms in the marketplace.
How much have you invested with Yum Yum Videos?
We spent $5,000 on the video production.
What is the status of this engagement?
It was a two-week process from producing the script to completion. It was a smooth transition. We chose Yum Yum Videos based on their quality and not their price, and we were satisfied with the results.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?
Our platform isn’t live yet. The video definitely helped us fundraise because we were able to demonstrate what the platform does to potential investors.
How did Yum Yum Videos perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great. There was no trouble at all. The project went according to plan. They met the deadline, and the project was within budget. The end result was exceedingly satisfactory. We communicated well through email and phone. Three resources from their team worked on the project.
What did you find most impressive about Yum Yum Videos?
I’ve worked with some substantial agencies in the past, both in Australia and the UK, and I find Yum Yum Videos to be professional and their quality of work to be excellent. We will use them again.
Are there any areas Yum Yum Videos could improve?
Their work ethic is excellent. They were able to deliver to the specs on time and within budget.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re in the tech industry, and we help people move, manage, secure, and report on collaboration platform migrations like SharePoint, Office, Dropbox, etc. I’m the creative director.
What challenge were you trying to address with Yum Yum Videos?
We’re a product based selling platform, and we wanted to move to more of a solution based selling system. By doing that, we needed to tell a story of how each of our products would fit into a specific solution. It’s a pretty complicated, technically advanced set of products that comprise each solution. We needed a way for someone to digest a lot of technical information in a short period and the best way to do that was through video. Yum Yum Videos has done five videos so far, and we’re working on the sixth one now.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Yum Yum Videos sent a questionnaire that we filled out, and then they wrote the script. We had specific messaging that we wanted to include so we maintained control of the script. We wanted an animated video that would illustrate what we do. After the script had been written, we had a kick-off call to discuss what we wanted the video to look like. Yum Yum Videos developed storyboards, and we gave our feedback on those in order to move to the next step. Yum Yum Videos includes their ideas in the storyboards and what they’ve done is fantastic.
How did you come to work with Yum Yum Videos?
I’ve worked with other companies that do animated explainers, and I have found that you get what you pay for. Yum Yum is very competitively priced but still expensive. Their portfolio gave me the confidence to move forward with them. Yum Yum Videos had the best portfolio out of all the firms I was vetting. I could tell they had the expertise to provide the look and feel that I wanted.
How much have you invested with Yum Yum Videos?
Our videos average $7,500 each.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Yum Yum Videos in July 2016, and the work is ongoing.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I don’t have any metrics at this time. Everybody has been super happy with Yum Yum Videos' work. We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback which is why we continue working with them.
How did Yum Yum Videos perform from a project management standpoint?
The Yum Yum Videos team speaks English fluently and have international voice over talent available. The fact that they’re in South America didn’t present any issues for us. Yum Yum Videos manages the projects very well and deliver on time. We communicate through phone calls and email.
What did you find most impressive about Yum Yum Videos?
Yum Yum Videos is great to work with. They’re willing to work within your budget. Yum Yum Videos has periodical discounts available and especially when creating multiple videos. What distinguishes them the most from other vendors I’ve used is their portfolio. They have a very talented group of people that can execute any direction you give and they’re extremely creative in the conceptual process. Yum Yum Videos' team isn’t afraid of offering their suggestions, and typically it is not only valuable, but it’s what we end up using.
Are there any areas Yum Yum Videos could improve?
As with any video company, I wish the prices were lower and the turnaround time was less. But Yum Yum Videos is very competitive both on price and turnaround time. I don’t know many vendors that can turn around what we needed in less than a month unless it’s poor quality. For the caliber of their expertise and creativity, I think they’re very reasonably priced.

Video Production for Electronic Signature Company
"The internal feedback we’ve gotten has been great."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
DocuSign is an electronic signature company. I am the director of digital advertising.
What challenge were you trying to address with Yum Yum Videos?
Our business is appropriate for certain horizontal companies, and the only assets we had internally when I started were some white papers. We were looking for an easy way to communicate more specifically what DocuSign does.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Yum Yum Videos created a 90-second video for us. The collaboration was really easy. We provided creative briefs that outlined our ideas and their writers came back with storyboards. We gave our feedback on those and four weeks later, they had the first round of animation. Since the first video, we have three more in progress and we’ve signed a contract to do four more.
How did you come to work with Yum Yum Videos?
We did an online search and asked for quotes from six vendors. Yum Yum was the best option and that’s mostly because of their style. Their animation was of high quality without being a full-service expensive brand agency. A lot of their work was global, so that appealed to our regional partners.
How much have you invested with Yum Yum Videos?
We have spent under $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in July 2016, and the work is ongoing.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Everyone jumped on the bandwagon after they saw the first one. They all wanted to do a video as well. The internal feedback we’ve gotten has been great. People are excited about it. We’re still in the process of promoting the videos.
How did Yum Yum Videos perform from a project management standpoint?
They are very responsive and were able to meet deadlines. Any delays have been because of us. They wanted to use Skype but we weren’t interested in that. We set up conference calls on our end instead.
What did you find most impressive about Yum Yum Videos?
It’s been a positive relationship. In our opinion, the project has been a low-cost option but our counterpart thinks it could be cheaper.
Are there any areas Yum Yum Videos could improve?
It’s apparent that they’re a new startup, but that doesn’t bother me.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the founder and CEO of Law-Whiz, which is a SaaS platform that operates across seven global jurisdictions.
For what projects/services did your company hire Yum Yum Videos?
I needed to produce an explainer video of what Law-Whiz was all about and what we offer lawyers across all the common law based legal systems. I further engaged them for a demonstration video to show how it all worked.
What were your goals for this project?
I wanted to ensure the message was delivered in a fun, animated, and engaging way.
How did you select this vendor?
I did online research on many video production companies and sent inquiries to several businesses in Australia. They steered me to Yum Yum Videos as the best in the industry.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Providing a team of highly-skilled operators, Yum Yum Videos collaborated with me to draft a storyboard, animate it, and then produce the 1-minute explainer video. I then hired them to do the additional demonstration video.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Yum Yum Videos provided a scriptwriter, producer, and the chief animator. The production took six weeks for the first video and a further six weeks for the demonstration video.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Engagement on the website by users has increased exponentially because the video message is far more powerful than the previous text. Yum Yum Videos’ work is the highest quality and powerfully animated. I received feedback from across all seven jurisdictions asking who did the production. They delivered the “wow” factor that I was looking for. They never disappoint and go out of their way to please the client. They work as a partner, not just a contractor, and that makes a difference in the delivery.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Our project manager was great. We were always able to communicate despite being on the other side of the planet.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Yum Yum Videos has great knowledge of video production. Nothing out there compares to their ability to deliver the story and message.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, I can't name anything.

The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the CEO and co-founder of a medical technology startup.
For what projects/services did your company hire Yum Yum Videos?
We hired Yum Yum to create our explainer video to communicate our business model’s different perspectives and moving pieces.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to quickly explain how our process worked for both sales and investment gathering purposes.
How did you select this vendor?
I noticed huge differences in production quality while researching whiteboard videos. Some were basic and didn’t hold my attention while others were more engaging. On the other hand, every Yum Yum video I found was high-quality. I found myself wanting to watch all of them.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
I was skeptical their team could understand all our moving pieces without meeting with me one-on-one. Therefore, I was extremely precise and intentional with my communication. I'm happy to say the final product is better than anyone expected. We’re incredibly happy.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Everything happened online. We rarely interacted over the phone and never met face to face. The design team and I were always on the same page, which was impressive. It was really easy to exchange notes with them.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The video explains in 3 minutes what it took me 45 minutes to explain in a presentation.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It took longer than we anticipated because our process was so complex, but the output was worth it.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their ability to understand complex topics and visualize them without face-to-face interaction was amazing.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I was constantly asking when I could expect a turnaround, so it would have been nice to get updates along the way.
Thanks to Yum Yum Videos, the company gained confidence in introducing their brand identity through videos. Their output was posted on the website and used in virtual events. The quality of the project and its production value are proof of Yum Yum Video's high level of expertise.
