Product design & thinking of Fintech platform
Uwigo is an accountant Saas platform focused on helping both entrepreneurs and big companies in managing cashflows, taxes, salaries and so on.
Coming from a +40 years company that developed one of the biggers chilenean ERPs, Uwigo needed our help to adapt their features to the current tech world, and also adapt to a new type of client: entrepreneurs.
In Uwigo, we worked together rethinking the core features of the platform and designing the new web platform.
HealthTech Design & development project for Therapist's industry
Companies are now starting to worry about their employees mental health. In a digital world, now it's easier to have therapy sessions virtually. Connecting those two things is what Menta does: offer a web platform for therapists to manage their sessions and patients. Menta's mission is to provide mental health for more people, breaking the societies status quo barrier that people that go to the therapist are "mentally broken" and making the experience more friendly to the patients.
With our client, we did the product thinking, design and development of Menta's web platform, having 3 types of user:
- Therapists: they can schedule recurrent sessions with their patients, have the sessions with Google Meet, manage their notes and calendar, receive payments and much more features.
- Patients: they can pay in the Menta's platform and receive notifications for each of the sessions they have
- Companies: manage employees, offer discounts for them to start therapy and much more coming.
Gender complaint system for Spotlight
Working together with Spotlight, we performed a process digitization and web software development of an application to upload, track and manage complaints and reports of violent events against women and girls.
At ZERF we are commited deeply in social causes, and we love colaborating with this kind of initiatives doing what we do best: software.
We though and built a platform for operators that answer the gender complaints phone, making a custom form for them to fill and alert them for danger depending on custom rules analyzing live what they write. The system is now being implemented in different parts of Argentina.
Fintech web & mobile development for Migrante
We have a technology partnership with Migrante. Migrante is a fintech company dedicated to provide loans for people who just arrived Chile and can't comply to a bank requeriments to get a loan. Migrante customers get directly the computer, motocycle or car the asked for the loan.
Focusing on business growth, we built a mobile app for customer loyalty. Besides, we have DevOps & backend leadership and we are co-leading product timeline.
We built scrapers in Ruby on Rails to get customers data and facilitate the platform usage. We thought and developed from zero the customer onboarding and loan simulation, making it more easy and friendly, and manage to improve the conversion metrics.
Frontend & Mobile development of Saas online restaurants
Mercat, a Chilenan company derived from Papa Johns, is a Sotware as a Service Ecommerce platform from restaurants.
Working together, we built a fully customizable experience for restaurants. They can manage their selling web using the Command Center, where they can custom the web appearance, create products, menus, stores, and set up everything they need to operate. Also, the have access to a Kitchen Delivery System though to be used in a tablet on their restaurants.
Besides from the web, in the premium plan they also got access to a Mobile application built in React Native, with the same appearance and custom features than in their web.
Right now Mercat has more than 100 restaurants using the system we built.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of an organization called Menta Health. Our platform works as a marketplace where health providers and therapists can deliver their services to customers and patients.
What challenge were you trying to address with ZERF?
We were looking to grow our development team through outsourcing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had already built the software for our product, so we decided to just add more team members from ZERF to further develop and design the web app. We’re using MongoDB for our database, React for the frontend, and Node for the framework. We also use the scrum methodology and accomplish our tasks in two-week sprints.
What is the team composition?
Our initial point of contact was Gonzalo (CTO), who was then proceeded by Santiago (COO).
How did you come to work with ZERF?
We met them through a partner of mine from my previous company, who was looking for development companies in Argentina. I interviewed ZERF and found that they already had experience working on a similar project.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve invested around $15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing partnership started in July 2020, as we just signed a flexible contract with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We divided the projects and implemented some milestones. They finished our first milestone, which was to build the architecture on the therapist side of the product, and we’re now moving on to the second phase.
How did ZERF perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great from a project management standpoint because they’re easy to talk to and they respond quickly. Sometimes I’m the one delaying the project, but that’s only because I’m handling more than one company at the same time. We use Slack to communicate and get feedback about the development process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We like that they’re very engaged with the project. It makes me want to work with them more because I trust them as a team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be nice to have a more cost-efficient solution, but I understand that quality comes at a price. They could also improve more on the design aspect of the project.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would first suggest figuring out what their experience is before hiring any company. Our relationship with ZERF has worked out so well because we both understand and come from the same industry. However, if they just want to create an app and aren’t sure about their experience, I would recommend trusting ZERF because they’re a good company that does great work.
